LA U RENEWS CONFIDENCE IN MBP SCHOOL FOR THE “METODO AZUL”

After 2 years of successful collaboration, MBP School of Coaches and Club Universidad de Chile have extended their agreement to continue strengthening the work carried out in youth football through the IPPM®️ system. In summary, this work involves defining player profiles and the game model we want to develop from U-10 to U-20, aiming to increase the number of players who can play in the professional team.

Regarding the project that has been developed over the past few years, Eduard Fortet, Consulting Director at MBP School, comments, “From the first day we arrived at La U, we realized what the Club means and the responsibility of implementing the IPPM system. With the guidance of the Club’s sports management, we started working to organize ideas regarding the Club’s identity.”

From here, the work continued with the Club’s coaches to organize and schedule training concepts and content in each of the youth and competitive categories. The last major step, the most important part of the IPPM system, had to do with methodology, that is, the practical application on the field, training sessions, and task design.

In other words, the methodology is how we transfer everything so that young players can progress and evolve throughout their journey at La U.

Fortet points out, “It is clear that the process is not short-term, but rather medium and long-term. For this reason, the Club and MBP School have continued the project to continue the ongoing evaluation of the methodology and training of the club’s coaches and players.”

Manuel Mayo, sports manager of Club Universidad de Chile, commented on the growth achieved with this methodology: “We have been working with MBP School Of Coaches for two years now, and it has been an incredible experience. This collaboration has allowed us to establish our own method, aligning ideas to enhance La U’s model with a continuous structure over time. The most important thing is that it’s not about La U adopting the MBP method, but rather that MBP helped us develop our own method for our Club.”

Manuel Mayo highlights that four manuals have already been developed with the Club’s identity and mysticism as the focus, but under the IPPM®️ (Identity, Planning, Programming, and Methodology) process system.

In this way, everyone at Centro Deportivo Azul now knows how La U works and where the institution is heading in terms of player development. “In addition, our coaches have been trained alongside MBP and have thus learned the best training practices worldwide”.

Weekly meetings, as well as regular training and match reviews, are among the actions that allow us to continuously optimize the model,” concluded the sports manager.
